TVS Girls Fall to Covington

The TVS Girls basketball team continued their skid. The game was a repeat of earlier games where turnovers and offense were a problem. The team seemed to shoot the ball more readily but the shots were not dropping. The Covington team played a stingy man to man defense that was unrelenting. TVS played some man to man but played most of the game in a zone. South only scored 3 points in the first quarter. They recovered in the second quarter but were still down 39-13 at the half. The 3rd quarter was a repeat of the first with South being held to just 3 points. In the end Covington prevailed 65-25. The fourth game where TVS found itself held to under 30 points.
Freshman Katie McCoy lead the scoring for TVS with 10 points. The next highest scorer was fellow Freshman Debbie Brubaker. Hayes scored 5 and Lipps 4. The South JV's lost a hard fought game 44-35. Scoring for the JV's was also lead by Freshmen with French scoring 13 and McCollum scoring 10; Also scoring: Spitler 2, Ervin 4, Tilton 6. Comments: email: Chris Tilton
