TVS: Young and Tall
J. C. Tilton

Last season the TVS Lady Panthers had one of their best regular seasons in a long time - thanks to the 5 seniors on the team. This season the senior class is represented by one player, Megan Durkle. There are several players with varsity experience, but not all with TVS. Tiffany Stone comes from Dixie and Brittany Hayes is another new comer from Preble Shawnee. Dany Lipps and Courtney Reed played with the TVS varsity last season, but were not starters. So there is some varsity experience - just not all with the same team.

So Coach Robinson will have a challenge to get everyone on the same page. The job will be a little easier thanks to two 6 footer's, Hayes and Katie McCoy. Having height inside will be a plus for TVS who in the past have not had the luxury of having a six foot post player, let alone two. They will be augmented by Stone and Lipps who will also be helping in the post. Robinson remarked that the Volleyball players are a week behind everyone else. The volleyball team made it to district so they had to miss a week of basketball practice. At the time of this interview the entire team had only been together for about a week and half, but had already participated in two scrimmages.

When asked about team goals Robinson remarked that she hoped the girls would, “Get better every practice, every game. If we continue to improve we should be competitive as the season progresses. The girls are all coachable...but the young players panic. We saw that when they were pressed in the scrimmage.” Robinson sees the CCC league contenders as being Franklin Monroe - who returns almost everyone from a solid team and Covington who has been at the top of league year in and year out. .
