Panther are Champs Under the Saturday Night Lights.
J. C. Tilton

The three year old Twin Valley South PeeWee football program has grown up in a really short time. The first year the teams were winless, the second year the varsity (grades 5 and 6) made it the Championship, but fell short in a close game. This year the varsity squad made a return trip to the CCCYL Super Bowl and won a close game against Bethel 14-6. The program has gone from worst to first in a very short time a tribute to the parents, the support of the community, and the hard work and dedication of the athletes.

The team showed defensive prowess the entire year by allowing only 3 TD's to be scored the entire season. They went thru a 5 game stretch where they were unscored upon. Bethel was able to score on a trick play that went for about 65 yards, the rest of the night the Bee's were boxed into their half of the field. The team was worried when starting running back Ryan Burns broke his arm in a game against Covington. But Tyler Leach and Grant Kreitzer redoubled their efforts and both scored in the Championship game. The team had no turnovers during the night, a tribute to the other running back Jon-Michael Gunsaulus, quarterback Dillon Ashley, and of course the offensive line. With the strong wind, TVS stuck to a ground attack and ground out the yardage Woody Hayes style. The Bee's combined the run and the pass, but was ineffective for the most part on offense. Coach Ova Ashley said that the game was played under the lights on Saturday and it was a thrill for the players to win under those conditions. Hopefully Saturday nights success will translate into Friday night victories.

The team finished the regular season with a 5-1 record and had a record of 7-1 overall. Their sole loss was the first game of the season against Bradford. They avenged this loss the first game of the playoffs with a 19-0 victory over the RailRoaders. This years squad was coached by: Kevin Hagar - head coach, Junior Burns - offense, Ova Ashley - defense. Congratulations to the team and to the volunteers who made this all possible. Comments:
