North Ready to Run
J. C. Tilton

The Tri-County North Girls Basketball team is preparing for the upcoming winter campaign. It will be a young group with just two seniors. The team will be anchored by returning starters Candice Estep(post) and Tiffany Daugherty(Point Guard). Also expected to contribute are:
Meagan Thompson Freshman Guard, Lauren Perry Freshman Forward, and Jessica Delong So.
Forward, Laura Green Jr. Guard.

The team does not have a great deal of height so Coach Stammen plans to utilize the teams quickness. “We are going to be extremely quick this year. We will run a transition game.” The team will also use their quickness at the other end of the court. Coach Stammen further stated that, “We are also
going to spend a lot of our time focusing on defense. Defense will be the key for us this year”.
The team will focus on improving their offense and shooting between now and opening day.
When asked about the teams off season work the coach responded that most of the team attended their off season camps and open gyms. She also had several players doing AAU ball as well.

When asked about goals for the season Coach Stammen replied, “We have a very positive,

energetic attitude this year and we want to keep this throughout the entire
year. Hard work and determination are something that we are really working
on and so far this is a great team full of effort and a good work ethic,
something we haven't seen in a few years. We want to play competitively in
each of our games this year. I am really looking forward to this year and
the young athletes that we have.”
