Hounds Overwhelm Polar Bears

The Greyhound offense ripped loose on the last game of the season. The Polar Bears were the recipients of the Dixie onslaught. Scoring was spread around and for the first time this season, even the defense scored a TD. At halftime the team had a firm 23-7 lead, which they extended to
a 51-21 victory.

Chad Craft lead the scoring with 3 passing TD's and also had over yards rushing. Ben Spahr was the leading receiver with 7 catches for about 140 yards and 2 TD's. Tyler Wilson had a rushing TD - a 20 yard scamper. In short yardage, Dixie sometimes using a “house set” where they place two linemen in the backfield. David Woodgeard and Heath Lukacs were in the backfield and Heath got the call and the TD for another rushing TD. Freshman quarterback Nick Miller took a page from senior Chad Craft's play book and scampered 60 yards for paydirt. Joey Blosser scored the sole defensive TD of the season. Picking off a Northridge pass and running about 30 yards for a score. David Woodgeard lead the way on defense with 2 stops for negative yardage and leading the team in tackles.

Coach Bullock was elated about the game. “I'm proud that the team finished strong and played hard.” Reflecting on the season coach Bullock was disappointed that the team was not able to post a winning record for the seniors. But felt that the team played hard in every game and put out their best effort. He complimented Chad Craft on his season - over 1200 yards passing and over 500 yards rushing. Ben Spahr had about 800 yards receiving. He also complimented Dustin Zimmer who kicked for 11 consecutive extra points in a row. Coach Bullock said that they were not sure but this may be a new school record. Dixie finishes the season with a 3-6 record. Comments:
