This past Saturday Twin Valley South's volley ball team defeated Fort Loramie in straight sets to capture the Sectional title. The scores were 25-14, 25-23, and 25-9. Coach Roberts was pleased with the teams effort and happy to return to the district finals - the year 2000 was the last time that the Panthers made the trip. Individually Danyel Lipps had 8 pts, 2 aces, 18 digs, and 14 kills; Katie McCollum had 7 pts., 3 aces, 15 digs, 10 kills; Bethany Garrett had 6pts, 10 digs, 2 saves,13 assists; Debbie Brubaker had 7 pts., 1 Ace, 8 digs, 14 assists; Katie Smith was 16 of 16 on serves, and had 6 digs; Brittany Hayes had 8 pts., 1 Ace, 4 kills, 7 blks; Katie McCoy had 11 pts., 2 aces, 2 kills, 6 blks.

On Saturday at 7pm, TVS will play an always tough Jackson Center team at Vandalia Butler high school. Coach Roberts acknowledged that Jackson Center has been a nemesis in the playoffs for TVS. They have met before in the districts and regionals and each time the Panthers have been unable to prevail. Roberts expects that this will be a contest between the offensive weapons of TVS and the strong defense of Jackson Center. Roberts stated that the girls are taking this tournament one game at a time and know that on any given night one team or another can win. TVS is now 20-2.
