Predictions for Friday October 8:
TVS(0-6) at National Trail(1-5): Trail has some bulky linemen. Their quarterback throws a fairly good ball. Their defense swarms to the run. TVS has had problems with the running game and will need to get some push from the line to get some yardage on the ground to keep the Trail defense honest. This should free up the Panthers to pass. The TVS defense will need to be balanced against Trail. It is an even match up, but I think that Trail will be able to run the ball better keeping the TVS offense on the sidelines, Trail by less than a TD.
TCN(4-1) at Arcanum(5-1): With Anna running thru the CCC like a steamroller, neither team has much chance of a league title. But both teams have a shot at playoffs. The winner of this game will get a boatload of computer points. The North running game will need to be on track for this game. Hopefully some of their injured line will be back on the field. The defense will need to contain Trojan runner Mike Eilerman. A close game, I will go with the Trojans by a TD.
Dixie (2-3) at Waynesville(2-4). Dixie needs to churn out the yardage and minimize mistakes. Waynesville can score, but if the Dixie defense can bend and not break they can manage the win. Although they are on the road, I take Dixie by one score.
Brookville(3-3) at Madison(1-5) Brookville is still smarting over the loss to Carlisle. They will be more determined this week. Madison won't be able to stop the Brookville running attack. Look for Brookville to win by 2 TD's.
The TVS - TCN junior high game was won by TVS 18-12. TCN threatened to tie the score late in the second half, but a 4th and 3 play was stopped by the TVS defense to preserve the win.
