Football predictions for Oct. 1:

TCN(3-1) hosts Ansonia(1-4). North's offensive line is ailing from injuries, which is hurting their ability to run. But the pass is still working. Ansonia played tough with Covington, losing by a TD. So the Tigers can still play ball, they cannot be overlooked despite their record. North has home field advantage and wins by less than a TD in another hard fought contest.

TVS(0-5) hosts Bradford(0-5) A battle for the basement of the CCC. South is coming off a devastating loss to Anna and injuries are a factor. Bradford has played well at times, but can't seem to go over the top and get a victory. Several of their losses have been close. The game could go to the team that get the most motivated as they are playing for pride. I'd like to go with TVS since they are at home, but will take the RailRoaders by less than a TD.

Valley View(4-1) hosts West Milton (2-3) The Bulldogs showed some signs of life early in the season. But they have faded. The Spartans are still too strong. Valley View by 2 scores or more.

Brookville(3-2) host Carlisle(1-3) Several speculated that Carlisle may be a force in the SWBL this year before the season began. They have a good sized line, and fair running backs. But they have not been able to generate the wins. Brookville lost to Valley View - but it was not lopsided loss. They held their own in that game. Brookville by a TD.

Dixie(2-2) hosts Middletown Madison(1-4) Madison has been struggling this season while Dixie is trying to redefine themselves. Dixie has had a week off to get healed, and to rest. I think that they will be ready to play. Dixie wins by a TD.

South's Junior High team lost in a close contest to Ansonia 27-20. All three of South's TD's were scored by Tyler Cunningham - including one that was an interception ran back for a score.
