Spartans Trouble Hounds

Remember the song with the lyrics "Rainy Days and Mondays Always get me down" - that is the way that the Greyhound fastpitch and baseball teams felt this past Monday in their games against Waynesville. First to meet up with the Spartans were the Dixie reserve fastpitch team coached by Sarah Kolis. The team was up at one point early in the game, but the reserves would eventually fall 10-8; losing pitcher was Powell. The Varsity fastpitch team did not fare any better. Up until this game Megan Miller had not had an earned run scored on her. But Waynesville was not stymied and crossed the plate 6 times. Dixie could only manage 2 runs and fell to defeat for the first time this season. The boys fell behind early against the Spartans. They dug a big hole that they could not climb out of, the team did score but not enough as they would eventually fall 15-4. It was a tough way to begin the week and the rain in the middle of the week did not make things any better.
