Dixie Track competes at Preble Shawnee Invitational

The Dixie Boys and Girls track teams competed at the Preble Shawnee Invitational. The boys team placed 5th and the Girls placed 11th. The boys team was highlighted by the 1-2 finish of Aaron Johnson and Jeff Rexrode in the 3200m run. Their times were 10:14.9 and 10:33.7 respectively. Another first place finish was Doug Overholtz in the long jump with a leap of 20' 4 ½". Other finishers were:
4x800 Relay team of Jeff Rexrode, Josh Cummins, Chris Metivier, and Aaron Johnson
got 3rd place with a time of 9:07; 4x100 relay team of Brock Frieszell, Jimmy Helfinestine, Chris Metivier, and Omar Hill placed 6th with a time of 50.1;Shot Put: Craig Metcalf placed 3rd with a throw of 44' 8 3/4"Discus: Craig Metcalf placed 6th throwing it 112' 3 1/2". Courtney Wilder lead the way for the girls. Finishing 3rd in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.8 and she also placed 4th in the 300m hurdles with a time of 57.0
